Alice Boutique

Ever since I was a young girl, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has been a favourite book of mine. The fantastical world she found herself in down the rabbit hole was always something I found myself daydreaming of. The Mad Hatter was always my favourite character with his oddball charm and tea party spread. The thought of teapots and tea parties still fills me with excitement even now. I even have a secret stash of teapots in one of my kitchen cupboards. So when I found out about the launch of The Alice Boutique this week in Birmingham, I was very excited!

In a nutshell, The Alice Boutique, aptly located in the Great Western Arcade in Birmingham, has a range of tea sets, dinner services and homeware adorned with John Tennial’s artwork from the seminal Lewis Carroll books. Featuring Alice, of course, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, among many others, the products really are beautiful. All of the items are made from fine bone china and are hand decorated in England. There is a range in full colour and a ‘Monochrome Alice’ range for a more subtle look, as well as a range of stationary and homeware.

Some of my favourite products are the candles – fragranced candles in either a Tea Cup, Sugar Bowl or Cream Jug – as they would make such pretty gifts for any Alice enthiusiast!

Unfortunately I missed the launch party where I hear there were adorable ‘Drink Me’ cocktails flowing, but I’ll definitely be picking up some of their lovely treats next time I’m out shopping.

The Alice china range is available exclusively from Handmade Boutique at the Great Western Arcade or online at the Alice Boutique website.
