It feels like Birmingham has got itself on everyone’s radar at the moment. With the Birmingham Weekender festival, the opening of Grand Central and New Street Station and the unveiling of the new Harvey Nics, there’s a hell of a lot going on right now, and it’s all exciting stuff!
Selfridges Birmingham are joining in the party this weekend with their Live + Loud celebration, bringing the best of Birmingham’s art, fashion and food worlds together in store between the 2nd and 4th.
As well as a pop-up arts space in Digbeth, exhibitions and performances from Birmingham City University students and local artists on Level 1 of Selfridges, live music, exclusive fashion and beauty events, there’s also some fantastic foodie goings on,
Top London chef Anthony Demetre returns to Birmingham for one night only on Thursday, showcasing his signature dishes and hand picked wines in the balcony restaurant. Tickets are £90 per head and available from Design My Night.
Then on Saturday I’ve been invited down to the Itihaas Bollywood Cinema in the foodhall on Level 1 of Selfridges by Itihaas owner Raj Rana himself. Promising Indian inspired street food including chilli popcorn, lamb tikka burgers and veggie biryani boxes alongside 20 minute screenings of Bollywood movie highlights, it promises to be a true taste of India in the heart of Brum.
